A "Getting in on the Ground Floor" Opportunity
Unannounced Bhutan Provisional
Stamp Pair Surfaces
In 2001, the Bhutan Post issued four surcharged stamps that were overprinted by the
Kuensel Press in Thimphu, the capital. For some unexplained reason, Kuensel prepared six different
plates printing plates for the four stamps. The printing order was for 500,000 sets.
Apparently unbeknownst to the Post, the printer delivered six different surcharges on the four stamps.
According to printing company officials, only 1,000 each of the Scott "A" varieties were printed.
Scott listed this pair in November 2003.
